OUR WEDDINGS

WEDDINGS & PREMARITAL COUNSELING

Wedding services are offered to members and non-members of this church.

Our church is an ideal place for small to medium-sized weddings. The sanctuary seats 200 guests (maximum) and has a center isle.

The price ($850) covers the wedding service, a rehearsal and associated fees for the pastor, organist and wedding coordinator.

This fee includes two or three 1-hour counseling sessions with Pastor Kirk Bridgers. This counseling provides an opportunity for the pastor to get to know you; and is designed for you and your partner to gain insight into how a Christ-centered marriage can prepare you both for the lifetime journey you are planning to take together.

Schedule your wedding date at Peachtree Road Lutheran Church by calling Ms. Ingrid Hoerler, our wedding coordinator at 678-608-3403. She will be happy to discuss availability dates and times, arrange for a brief tour of our facilities and set up a brief meeting with Pastor Bridgers.

BAPTISMS

In holy baptism our God delivers us from the forces of evil, puts our sinful self to death, gives us new birth, adopts us as children, and makes us members of the body of Christ, the church.

The Christian community at worship celebrates God's gift of baptism in a number of ways. The sacrament itself normally takes place in the midst of the worshiping assekbly as a sign that in baptism we are made one with Christ and with and with the whole people of God. On behalf of the shole church, we promise support to new brothers and sisters, confess the faith with them, and welcome them into the body of Christ. Water connected to the Word -- God's saving promise in Jesus Christ -- is at the center of the baptismal celebration.

Although a person is baptized once, the gift of baptism continues throughout a Christian's life. Instruction in the faith for a life of discipleship is part of the preparation of those who are to be baptized or their parents and sponsors. The ongoing nurture of that faith is part of the congregation's ministries of formation, education, service and evangelical witness.

Baptisms are integrated into our regular 11:00 A.M. Sunday services. Please provide one to two weeks advance notice of your baptism requirements. Arrangements may be made through Pauli Mockler, Church Administrator, at 404-233-7031.

MEMORIAL AND FUNERAL SERVICES

Memorial and funeral services can be a very difficult time for families. It is helpful to remember that these are worship services. And, in a worship service, the primary focus is on our Lord and His grace. In the context of this remembering, we recall the deceased - friend, loved one, spouse. Our prayer in these services is that faith in Christ will be renewed and that God will be glorified, as the deceased is lovingly remembered.

If you would like to arrange for a memorial or funeral service, please contact the church office at 404-233-7031. Please leave a voice message, if no one is available to answer the phone. Please leave a phone number where you can be reached. Someone will check for urgent messages daily.
